Come Saturday 2nd December, 2017 the premier cultural organization of the Urhobo of Nigeria's Niger Delta, Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) will officially present the Urhobo Language Curriculum to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa at the union's cultural centre located in Uvwiamuge, Agbarho, Delta State.

The curriculum which was recently approved by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education will kicks start in various selected schools across Delta Central and South Senatorial districts of the state.

The Urhobo Studies Association (USA) based in Delta State University, Abraka in collaboration with the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), the Joint Consultative Committee on Education Forum (JCCEF) and National Council on Education (NCE) facilitated the curriculum between 2008 - 2015.

Members of the USA led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, DELSU, Abraka, Prof. (Mrs.) Rose Oro Aziza are expected to attend the ceremony on traditional attires of yellow wrappers and white tops.
